Live M1 updates as 4 miles queues reported after crash
Traffic has been stopped on a stretch of the M1 following a crash. The northbound carriageway between J24a and J25 for Nottingham was shut just before 7.30am on Tuesday, April 25.
Two lanes closed after a collision involving a car and lorry, traffic monitoring site Inrix said. There is also queueing traffic.
National Highways said in a tweet: “Traffic has been STOPPED on the #M1 northbound in #Nottinghamshire between J24a (#A50, #Derby) and J25 (#Nottingham) due to a collision. Our Traffic Officers are on scene. Updates to follow.”

Inrix said in an update: “Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident, a car and a lorry involved on M1 Northbound from J24 A453 Ashby Road (Nottingham South / East Midlands Airport) to J25 A52 Brian Clough[2] Way (Nottingham / Derby ).
“Cameras show lanes one and two (of four) are closed after a brief hold around 07:25.” This is a breaking news story.
National Highways says traffic was released shortly after the incident but two lanes remain shut and there is congestion of 4 miles.
