Long Melford – Serious collision

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious collision in Long Melford. 

Police were called at 3.50pm this afternoon, Friday 28 April, to reports of a collision involving a car and a cement mixer lorry on the B1064 Sudbury Road, at the roundabout junction with the A134. 

The driver and front seat passenger of the car were trapped in the vehicle and had to be extracted by Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service. 

Both casualties have been taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital with potentially serious injuries. 

The road is currently closed at the roundabout for a collision investigation to take place.
