Lorry ban on A438 Ledbury road at Lugwardine, near Hereford …
Due to roadwork, Herefordshire Council said heavy goods vehicles would be banned from the A438 at Lugwardine for four days next month.
But the roadworks, which will be on a 350-yard stretch according to the council’s roadworks, will see lorry drivers face a 21-mile diversion from one side to the other.
OTHER NEWS:
In a public notice, the council said the restriction was needed due to “insufficient road width for HGVs during a crossing for utility connection works” between the river Lugg and Hephill Lodge.
The works, by gas company Cadent, would take place over four days from April 11, it said.
The public notice also said the restriction was needed due to the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are taking place.
