M27: Drug driving arrest after crash between two lorries

Officers were called to the M27 westbound yesterday morning following a collision between two lorries.

Both sides of the motorway were closed temporarily while emergency services dealt with the incident.

A 53-year-old man from Portsmouth was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug driving.

He was later released under investigation.

Motorists faced around four miles of congestion as a result of the crash.

Lanes one and two on the westbound side, between junction three at the M271 and junction two at Ower, remained closed for the majority of the morning.

Minor injuries were reported to police at the time.
