M3 Easter Sunday crash involving multiple cars causes delays

There are delays on the M3 following a multi-car crash on Easter Sunday (April 9). It has happened on the eastbound carriageway between Junction 3 and Junction 2.

Traffic was held at around 1pm so that the vehicles involved in the crash could be moved. Traffic cameras show there were six cars involved.

National Highways tweeted to warn drivers of the incident, adding it was a "non-injury, minor collision". Traffic has since been released but one lane remains shut while a recovery operation is underway.

National Highways tweeted: “Please pass [the] scene with care and keep your eyes on the vehicle ahead of you.” It added that there was a 20-min delay and six miles of congestion because of the crash.

Drivers have been encouraged to allow extra time if they are heading that way.
