M5 traffic: 90 minutes of delays and miles of queues after crash in …
Millions of motorists are gearing up for their Easter holiday travels this weekend, but transport companies warned them to expect delays. The AA predicts traffic will peak on Saturday April 8, with at least 15 million car journeys taking place as Brits rush to join family and friends for the Easter break.
However, with wet weather in the second half of the weekend, the AA is advising drivers to slow down to avoid aquaplaning on motorways and major A roads. Nationwide congestion is expected on the M25, the M4 Wales heading into Newport, the M6/M5 interchange in Birmingham and the M4/M5 in Bristol.
The RAC has said it expects Good Friday and Sunday to be the busiest days, but added that the “always the chance of a boost in traffic if the weather forecast turns out better than expected”.
