M62 closed after serious lorry crash
The M62 is closed between junctions 34 and 35, after a lorry crashed into a central reservation barrier.
The westbound carriageway has closed to all traffic, while lane three of the eastbound carriageway also remains closed. The serious crash has resulted in a lorry overturning, according to witnesses.
Congestion on the M62 Westbound has caused tailbacks up to junction 36 (Goole) and on the M18. National Highways has reported delays of around 30 minutes on the eastbound carriageway, on the approach to the incident.
National Highways reports: “The #M62 remains closed westbound between J35 and J34 following a collision whereby a lorry has collided with the central reservation barrier. Lanes 1 and 2 (of 3) are now open eastbound, with lane 3 remaining closed due to the incident.”
Traffic website Inrix reports: “M62 Westbound closed long delays, queueing traffic due to accident from J35 M18 to J34 A19 (Selby / Doncaster). Congestion to J36 (Goole), and northbound on the M18 towards the M62 at J35.
“Road closed at around 7.20. A vehicle crossing the central reservation has also resulted in one lane being closed on the other side of the road.”
