Man flown to hospital in ‘serious condition’ after crash

A man has been flown to a London hospital in a “serious condition” after a crash on the A258 Dover Road near Deal[1]. The single-vehicle collision happened early this morning (April 27) but the road remains closed in both directions.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 6.30am. Police and the ambulance service say a man suffered “serious” injuries.

A Kent Police spokesperson added that the road would remain closed while investigations were ongoing.

The South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) said crews were called to the crash this morning and were subsequently joined by the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance. An ambulance spokesperson said: “SECAmb was called to reports of a single-vehicle collision on Dover Road, near Ringwould, at approximately 6.30am today.

“Ambulance crews attended and were joined at the scene by the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance Service. A man received treatment at the scene before being airlifted to hospital in London in a serious condition.”

Kent Fire and Rescue Service crews also attended. A spokesperson said: “KFRS was called at 6.35am to assist Kent Police following reports of a crash involving one vehicle on Dover Road, in Ringwould, Deal. Three fire engines attended.”
