Mumbai: CCTV Shows 8-Year-Old Girl Crushed to Death After Being …
In Mumbai’s Dahisar area, an 8-year-old minor girl was caught on CCTV being crushed to death after being mowed over by a dumper truck in the city’s Dahisar area. The incident took place earlier on Thursday and occurred when the victim was walking back home from her school and was accompanied by her mother. The victim in the matter has been identified as 8-year-old Vidya Bansode and the accused driver, who appeared to be drunk at the time of the accident, was identified as Mukesh Dhale.
Vidya, who was walking home with her mother after dropping off her brother at school, was left crushed and lifeless under the front wheel of the truck. Her mother was left injured and traumatized, screaming in agony as bystanders rushed to her aid. The CCTV footage of the incident that has gone viral on social media shows the truck ramming into Vidya, her mother, and other pedestrians, who were standing near a shop.
Witnesses to the gruesome incident describe the truck as coming out of nowhere, careening down the road, and smashing into the group of pedestrians with the force of a freight train. Vidya, who was walking home with her mother after dropping off her brother at school, was left crushed and lifeless under the front wheel of the truck.

The dangers of drunk driving are well-known and yet, tragically, incidents like the one that occurred in Dahisar East, Mumbai, continue to remind us of the horrific consequences of getting behind the wheel while intoxicated. In this case, an innocent 8-year-old girl named Vidya Bansode lost her life after being run over by a truck whose driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
The entire incident was caught on CCTV, visuals of which are going viral.

What Does the Video Show
In a horrific scene captured by CCTV cameras and widely circulated on social media, a young girl named Vidya Bansode, along with her mother and several others, stood innocently on a corner near a shop in Dahisar when a monstrous truck suddenly barreled into them.
Witnesses describe the truck as coming out of nowhere, careening down the road, and smashing into the unsuspecting pedestrians with the force of a freight train. Vidya and her mother, Rekha, were both struck by the vehicle, sending them flying in different directions.
The driver of the truck, in a panic, attempted to drive away but ended up crushing Vidya under the front wheel, leaving her lifeless body sprawled out on the pavement.

Accused was Drunk, Charged with Non-Bailable Charge
The driver of the dumper truck, Mukesh Dhale, is now in police custody on the grounds of gross negligence. After conducting an initial investigation, Senior Police Inspector Pravin Patil of the Dahisar
police station confirmed that Dhale was drunk at the time of the accident, which led to the tragic death of the innocent child.
The authorities have charged him with severe non-bailable offenses under the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including recklessness while driving under the influence and culpable homicide, section 304 (2). A blood sample was promptly collected from Dhale and sent to a forensic lab for testing to determine his blood alcohol content.

Mumbai Recorded Highest Fatalities in Maharashtra
The bustling metropolis of Mumbai has become synonymous with the dangers of its chaotic and congested roads, which have once again proven to be a leading cause of accidents and fatalities.
Recent statistics reveal that out of the 19,383 accidents recorded in the state of Maharashtra between January and April in 2022, a staggering 8,768 occurred within the city limits of Mumbai alone.
