New ocean-themed play area opens in Suffolk park

A new children’s play area, designed to create a connection with water in the park, has opened its gates in Holywells Park in Ipswich.

The new play area named Imagination Island has been designed to create a connection with water. Imagination Island has been created to provide a safe space for children to let their imaginations run free.

The play area has a variety of exciting play equipment including Croc Creek bridge, ride on dolphin and shark springers, an octopus seesaw and a pirate ship themed climbing frame. Along with play equipment, the play area also includes a 3D crocodile.

The new inclusive facilities are part of Ipswich Borough Council’s Play Area Strategy, which sets out to improve 45 play areas across Ipswich, with Holywells the third to be completed.

A spokesperson for Ipswich Borough Council said: “It’s fantastic to see the new park opening over the Easter weekend, giving children the opportunity to visit during the school holidays.

“This is the third new park created in Ipswich as part of our Play Area Strategy, allowing children of all ages and abilities to have fun in a safe and colourful environment.”
