Police appeal in arson probe after HGVs set on fire in Runcorn

Dramatic pictures show the burnt-out shells of the HGVs and trailers deliberately destroyed in an arson attack in Runcorn.

At 1.21am on Monday, April 10, officers received reports of a vehicle fire at a commercial property on Aragon Court, on Manor Park industrial estate.

The lorries contained recycled white goods and appliances.

Two fire engines from Runcorn Fire Station and one from Widnes attended, with firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackling the blaze.

Due to the nature of the incident, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service informed Cheshire Police.

Officers swiftly attended the scene, where they found four heavy goods vehicles had been deliberately set alight by an unknown person.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing, and officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with any information which may aid their investigation.
