Police issue update on Beverley Road junction crash between lorry …

A motorcyclist was injured in a crash with a lorry, near to the Beverley Road junction with Cottingham Road.

Police were called to the scene yesterday afternoon, at around 2.30pm, to reports of a two-vehicle crash. A man was taken to hospital for treatment on his injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

The road was closed from Cottingham Road for a few hours while emergency services attended the incident. An appeal has been launched to establish what happened.

Emergency services descended on the Beverley Road junction yesterday afternoon, and a large cordon was put in place. Two fire engines, several police cars and ambulances were parked at the traffic lights, while the scene was investigated.

Worried Lidl customers gathered at the blue tape to see the motorbike lying in the road, alongside a lorry. Buses were diverted and traffic was gridlocked around Newland Avenue, Clough Road and Alexandra Road, as motorists avoided the incident.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Officers investigating a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Cottingham Road, Hull yesterday (Tuesday 4 April) are appealing for witnesses to come forward. We were called at around 2.30pm to reports that a motorcycle and a lorry had been in collision.

“The road was closed from Cottingham Road at the junction of Beverley Road, Hull whilst emergency services carried out their duties. A man was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening at this time.

“If anyone witnessed this incident, or has dashcam footage of the area around the time of the collision, you are advised to contact us on our non-emergency number 101, quoting log 355 of 4 April.”
