Police search for man after pedestrian injured in hit-and-run crash

Police are searching for a man following a hit-and-run incident in East Yorkshire involving a van and pedestrian.

At 4.20pm on Wednesday, March 22, a white Nissan tipper-style van collided with a stationary vehicle on Main Street, Long Riston which subsequently collided with a pedestrian. However, the driver of the van fled the scene following the collision.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital for injuries that are not thought to be serious. Police are now appealing for anyone who recognises the man to come forward and contact them on their non-emergency number 101 quoting log 348 of 22 March.

In a statement, Humberside Police said: “Officers would like to speak to the man shown in these images in connection with a road traffic collision involving a white van and a pedestrian that occurred on Main Street in Long Riston on Wednesday 22 March.

“It is reported at around 4.20pm that a white Nissan tipper-style van collided with a stationary vehicle which subsequently collided with a pedestrian.

“The driver of the van is then believed to have fled the scene following the collision and the pedestrian was taken to hospital to receive medical treatment for injuries which are not thought to be serious.
