Police uncover huge cannabis farm in Paignton

Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police[1] found a ‘sizeable’ cannabis growing operation in Paignton[2] over the weekend (April 23).

A spokesperson for the force said that they were searching for a male in the area who was already wanted for assault[3] when they came across the farm.

They added that it was uncovered as part of a joint operation which involved detectives and armed response units.

The force’s post said that the seizure comes under Operation Loki, an initiative launched[5] by Devon and Cornwall Police last month in Torquay[6], with Exeter[7], Barnstaple[8], Plymouth and Penzance following suit in a bid to crack down on anti social behaviour in sensitive areas.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing, police say.
