The American Red Cross says donated blood that was involved in a box truck accident is safe to use.

The accident happened on Sunday, according to first responders with the Bath Fire Department.

First responders were called to I-86 in Steuben County for an overturned truck.

The truck was carrying donated blood when it crashed in the westbound lanes between exits 37 and 38.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
