Searches as 78-year-old woman vanishes in early hours

People in the Coalville[1] area are being asked to keep an eye out for an elderly lady who has gone missing from her home. Christine Cliff, who lives in the Standard Hill area of Hugglescote, left her home at about 4am this morning (Sunday).

Leicestershire Police[2] said they were worried about her welfare and want anyone with information to get in touch with them. They said in a statement this morning: "Police are concerned for the welfare of an elderly woman who has been reported missing.

"Christine Cliff is believed to have left her address in the Standard Hill area of Hugglescote at around 4am this morning (Sunday 23 April). Christine is 78-years-old, white, 5ft 6ins tall, of a slim build and has long grey hair she wears in a ponytail.

"She was last seen wearing a black duffle style coat, light coloured leggings and carrying a satchel type bag. Officers are carrying out a number of enquiries to find her and return her home.

"Anyone who may have seen her or knows where she is, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 111 of 23 April."
