Second person killed on Lincolnshire’s roads in a single day

A 45-year-old man has died following a crash[1] involving a lorry on the A52 near Skegness. Police first reported details of the incident in Wainfleet Road, Croft just before 9am on Tuesday, April 11 when the force advised that the road was closed in both directions and would remain closed for some time.

The road reopened at about 5pm and Lincolnshire Police issued this update just after 7pm: “A 45-year-old man has sadly died following a collision involving a lorry on the A52 at Croft earlier today. The road was closed in both directions to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.

“We are appealing for witnesses and any dashcam footage that may assist in our investigation. If you can help, please get in touch by emailing [email protected][2] quoting incident 69 of 11 April.”

Police earlier confirmed that a 56-year-old man had died[3] in a separate crash. Emergency services were called to the incident in Warren Road, North Somercotes just before 10.20am on Tuesday, April 11. Police said the man died at the scene of the single vehicle collision.

A spokesman said: “We are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a fatal collision in North Somercotes. Officers attended reports of a single-vehicle collision on Warren Road just before 10.20am today (11 April). A 56-year-old man sadly died at the scene.
