‘Stabbing’ at Essex underground station sees air ambulance called …
A man has been airlifted to hospital after a stabbing at an underground station in Essex. The man, 19, was taken by air ambulance to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel Road, London following the incident at Loughton Station on Sunday (April 9) afternoon.
The exact time of the incident is unknown, but posts on social media shortly before 6pm showed a large emergency services presence outside the station. In one picture seen by EssexLive at least seven emergency service vehicles were at the scene.
They included vehicles from the East of England Ambulance Service Trust and Essex Police, who both cover the area which is on the border with London.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “An ambulance, two rapid response cars and the air ambulance were sent to reports of a stabbing at Loughton Station. One patient – a male aged around 19 – was taken by air ambulance to the Royal London Hospital.”
Essex Police[2] has also been contacted for further information but they have not replied at the time of publication. The current condition of the patient remains unknown.
