Tragedy as biker, 37, dies and police hunt driver of silver car

A motorcyclist has died after crashing into a traffic light in Rotherham[1] yesterday.
South Yorkshire Police[2] said the 37-year-old man was riding his motorbike along Herringthorpe Valley Road at 11.40pm on Tuesday (April 4). He passed the junction with Mowbray Street and then crashed into a traffic light.
He was seriously injured in the crash and had to be taken to hospital. He died just a short time later.
Police said an unknown silver vehicle was in the area at the time and may have seen the motorcyclist before the crash. They are working to trace the driver.
The force are asking anyone who may have seen the motorcyclist or who can help trace the silver vehicle driver to get in touch via 101 or by emailing dashcam footage to [email protected]. The incident number to quote is 1134 of April 4.
