‘Very long delays’ on A14 near Ipswich after crash between van and …
There are queues of three miles on the A14 this morning after a crash between a van and a lorry this morning (Tuesday, April 4). One of the westbound lanes between J57 for Ipswich and J56 for Wherstead is currently closed, resulting in long tailbacks during the morning rush-hour.
On twitter, National Highways East urged drivers to allow extra journey time. Highways England’s traffic map is showing stationary traffic back to J58 on the westbound carriageway.
The tweet read: “1 lane (of 2) is closed on the #A14 westbound in #Suffolk between J57 (#Ipswich) and J56 (#Wherstead) due to a collision involving a lorry and a van. @SuffolkPolice are in attendance. Please allow extra journey time as there’s approx 3 miles of congestion in both directions.”
A Suffolk Police spokesperson confirmed that no one has been seriously injured in the crash. There is queuing traffic on the eastbound carriageway between J57 and J56.
