West London fire sees woman and two children rushed to hospital
A West London fire that destroyed two floors of a house also saw a woman and two children rushed to hospital. The blaze started at the property on Morley Road in Twickenham yesterday evening (April 23).
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters[1] were called to the fire at the property in Twickenham. The woman and two children had managed to leave the property before London Fire Brigade[2] arrived but they were suffering from smoke inhalation and taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service.
Fire crews rushed to the scene as firefighters from Richmond, Twickenham[3] and Heston Fire stations arrived at the scene to tackle the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade’s fire investigators and the Met police.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade: “Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a house on Morley Road in Twickenham on Sunday evening.
“Half of the ground floor and part of the first floor was destroyed by fire. One woman and two children left the property before the Brigade arrived. They were suffering with smoke inhalation and taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service.
The Brigade was called at 8.03pm and the incident was over by 9.02pm. Fire crews from Richmond, Twickenham and Heston fire stations were in attendance.
