West Mersea crash leaves motorcyclist seriously injured as air …

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured following a crash on an Essex road on Friday afternoon (April 7). Emergency services, including the East of England Air Ambulance were called to Barfield Road, West Mersea, shortly after 12.30pm.

The crash involved a car and a motorbike. Police remain at the scene and the road remains partially closed to traffic[1] as a result of the incident.

An Essex Police[2] spokesperson said: “We are currently on scene at a serious collision in West Mersea. Officers were called to Barfield Road around 12:35pm following reports of a collision involving a car and a motorcycle.

“Emergency services including the air ambulance attended. The motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. We remain at the scene and the road is partially closed.”
