Wycombe Abbey School death: Girl, 16 found dead at High …

A 16-year-old girl has been found dead at a Buckinghamshire boarding school last week. The girl was found to have died in the late hours of Friday, April 21.

Thames Valley Police was called to Wycombe Abbey school in High Wycombe[1] at around 11:40pm. Her death is not being treated as suspicious at this time but is being considered unexplained.

A file is currently being prepared for the coroner. A Thames Valley Police[3] spokesperson said: “Thames Valley Police was called to the Wycombe Abbey School at around 11.40pm on Friday (21/4) after a 16-year-old girl was sadly found to have died.

“Her death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.” Wycombe Abbey is an independent boarding school for girls aged 11-18.

The school was named the best independent school in the South East and the third best in the country by The Sunday Times in 2022[4]. Parents of pupils pay £44,000 a year to enrol their children at the school.
