2 dead, 1 injured following car crash in University Heights

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – Two people died and one person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle car crash in University Heights on Saturday.

The crash happened at about 1:25 p.m. at Cedar and Brockway Roads. The cars crashed into a utility pole before they burst into flames, according to police.

Two people were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The other person was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The identities of those who died in the crash have not been released by police or the office of the Cuyahoga County medical examiner.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated by police.
