Bald ‘shoplifter caught stealing hair products’ after he ducked into barber shop

A shoplifter was reportedly arrested after police spotted him entering a barber shop - despite being bald. The man reportedly attempted to evade custody by hiding in a hairdressers - but his unusual behaviour caught the attention of police officers.
A police team, comprising both uniformed and plain-clothed officers, was on the lookout for individuals engaging in criminal activities such as shoplifting, drug dealing, knife carrying and anti-social behaviour. It came as part of the "Operation Compass" initiative in Nottingham city centre.
The suspect was arrested for stealing 16 bottles of hair products from a Boots store. It happened in Beeston, Nottinghamshire, on March 25.

However, his bald head made the officers suspicious of his intentions and they followed him inside. They reportedly found a bag of stolen goods on the man, who was promptly arrested.
Sergeant Jonathan Pothecary, who leads Operation Compass, said: “He really chose the wrong place to hide from police. This is why Op Compass is such a good team.
"It knows all the faces of those coming into the city to commit crime and we will continuously disrupt their day. Sometimes they will say ‘why don’t you leave us alone?’ and we say: ‘we will if you stop coming into Nottingham to commit crime.’”
