Crash involving overturned lorry on A55 near St Asaph causes closure

This was on the eastbound carriageway at Waen, with a road closure still in place.

At 2.24am, North Wales Police said: “Due to a road traffic collision, the road is closed on the A55 eastbound at Waen near St Asaph. 

“Drivers are advised to exit the A55 at junction 28.”

Traffic Wales added: “The A55 eastbound – junction 28 (Waen) to junction 29 (Pant y Dulath) is closed due to a collision and an overturned vehicle.

“The road will remain closed for some time for recovery to take place.

“Traffic is being diverted off at junction 28.”

At 7.09am, Traffic Wales added that the road remained closed.

An INRIX traffic update said that there is “queueing traffic due to an overturned lorry and recovery work from junction 28 to 29”.

It added: “The road has been closed since the early hours this morning, affecting traffic heading away from Colwyn Bay towards Ewloe.

“Diversion: via the B5429 through Rhuallt, continuing east on to the unclassified road to re-join the A55 at junction 29; seeing delays on diversion route.”
