Witness appeal

Officers are appealing for witnesses after an altercation between two women at a car park in Carlisle[1]

The incident took place at Asda’s car park,  St Nicholas Gate, Carlisle[2] on April 29, between 3:30pm and 4pm.

VandalismPolice have released an image of a youth who police are seeking to identify in connection with an investigation into criminal damage in Penrith worth around £1,000[3]

The damage was caused to the bus station toilet door on Sandgate, Penrith on the 2 May 2023 at around 7.45pm.

Three male youths were in the vicinity at the time the damage is believed to have occurred.

Sheep theft

There has been a reported theft of fifty-seven sheep from the Eden district.

26 cheviot ewes and 31 lambs have reportedly been stolen[4] from the area of Orton Scar.

A spokesperson from Eden Police said: “They are all tagged and have a blue stripe on the left side.”

Anti-social driving in Appleby

There have been a number of incidents of vehicles being driven in an anti-social way in Broad Close car park, Appleby. 

We have increased patrols in the area and have engaged with young drivers.

Woman in her 70s in electric bike crash in Carlisle

Police have issued a warning about the use of electric motorbikes after a pedestrian in her 70s[5] was injured in a collision in Carlisle.

The incident occurred on Friday (May, 12) at 4.50pm, at the junction between Scotland Road and Rosebery Road.

Crash in Whitehaven

A driver was been taken to hospital with ‘serious injuries’ following a crash in Whitehaven.

Police are investigating a road traffic collision which occurred at 8pm on Saturday ,May 13[6] on the A595 at Whitehaven[7].

The collision involved a white Suzuki Celerio and a silver Volkswagen Tiguan.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or dashcam footage of either vehicle to contact police.
