Emergency services called to another crash at notorious junction
ANOTHER crash happened at a junction in Kings Worthy that’s notorious for accidents.
At least two vehicles were involved in the incident at the Cart and Horses junction on Monday, May 29 afternoon around 2.30pm, with two ambulances at the scene.
According to comments posted in Facebook[1] group ‘The Worthy Community’ a casualty was being treated on the ground but the area was passable with care, with police also on site.
Hampshire Constabulary has been contacted for more information.
The latest crash is one of a series of incidents to happen at the junction, with local people campaigning for a safer alternative since 2014.
Concerns have escalated since October after a woman died and a man was seriously injured following a collision between a Mazda and a van.
The county council has previously said that the fatality record is not sufficient to warrant the installation of a set of traffic lights or a roundabout.
Winchester[3] City Councillor Steve Cramoyasan commented on Facebook to say that the recent accident only increases the evidence that changes need to be enforced and would “add urgency for Hampshire County Council to get on it”.
