Lorry leaves M5 carriageway in early morning crash – live updates

A lorry has crashed and come off the M5 carriageway. The incident happened shortly after 6am on Thursday morning near Stroud between junctions 13 and 14 on the Southbound side of the motorway.

Police are on the scene and have reported that the driver of the lorry is uninjured. The speed limit has been reduced to 50mph in the surrounding area.

Gloucestershire Police has been contacted for more information.

Inrix reports: "All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to accident on M5 Southbound from J13 A419 (Stroud) to J14 B4509 (Thornbury / Falfield).A vehicle has reported to have left the carriageway."
