M62 traffic live as huge delays after crash shuts motorway near Huddersfield
There are huge delays on the M62 near Huddersfield[1] after a crash involving a van and a car has closed the motorway.
West Yorkshire Police[2] closed the M62[3] Westbound near Huddersfield on Wednesday afternoon following the smash. All lanes have since reopened but there are long delays as a result.
The crash has happened westbound from J23 A640 New Hey Road (Huddersfield) to J22 A672 (Rishworth Moor) and is causing 25 minute delays.
There is a 25-minute delay and queueing traffic due to the crash but the car involved is now on the hard shoulder.
Our travel partner, INRIX, said: “Queueing traffic due to accident, now on the hard shoulder on M62 Westbound from J23 A640 New Hey Road (Huddersfield) to J22 A672 (Rishworth Moor). All lanes have been re-opened. Travel time is around 25 minutes. Traffic was briefly held, worsening delays.”
