Snarky drunk driver flips vehicle during State Road crash: North Royalton Police Blotter
NORTH ROYALTON, Ohio
Drunken driving, State Road: On May 2, police were dispatched to a car crash on State Road.
An arriving officer located an overturned vehicle lying on its roof in a culvert; however, the driver was missing.
A few minutes later, the vehicle’s owner returned. The man, who wasn’t steady on his feet, slurred he went to a friend’s house after the crash.
He also said he went to the store before the crash. Asked about drinking, the driver said he had a couple.
When asked to clarify how many drinks he consumed, the man shot back, “a couple is two.”
After failing a field sobriety test, during which he swayed, lost his balance and lost track while counting, the man was arrested for drunken driving.
Disorderly conduct intoxicated, Albion Road: On May 3, police observed a speeding gold Toyota Corolla traveling 47 mph in a 35-mph zone on York Road.
While talking to the driver, it turned out the passenger -- who smelled like booze -- had a warrant.
When the officer tried to arrest the man, he resisted being handcuffed. After finally being cuffed, the suspect was put into the police cruiser, where he banged his head on the plexiglass.
The man was cited for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct intoxicated. The driver was given a written warning about speeding.
