Traffic stopped on M20 between junction 4 A228 Castle Way, Leybourne, to junction 5 A20 London Road, Aylesford, due to crashed van

Motorists were brought to a halt on a motorway due to a crash involving a van and several other vehicles.

Traffic was stopped on the M20 coastbound from the A228 Castle Way in Leybourne[1] to junction 5 A20 in Aylesford until about 12.35pm.

Lane 1 (of 4) on the #M20[2] coastbound between J4 and J5 near #Aylesford[3] is closed due to a breakdown & collision.

But there are delays still in the area with queues reported to be backing up for three miles.

Lane one of four has been closed following a 25 minute closure of the road.

A breakdown in the area is also adding to problems and further congestion.

Police have been asked for more information.
