UPDATE: A9 south of Inverness reopened after ‘serious’ collision between a car and lorry

A section of the A9 south of Inverness has reopened following a ‘serious’ collision between a car and lorry yesterday morning.
One vehicle caught fire in the crash near Dalmagarry at about 6am.
Emergency services described the accident as serious, but it has not yet been confirmed whether there were any casualties.
Diversions of around 69 miles were in place while enquiries and road resurfacing took place.
The road was fully open again by 11.20pm yesterday.
Police Scotland thanked the public, stating: “Following a two-vehicle crash earlier today, the A9 at Dalmagarry has now reopened.
“We want to thank those affected for their patience and understanding whilst extensive enquiries were undertaken, and road resurfacing was completed.”
