Three people were sent to the hospital Saturday afternoon after a crash with a Durham Police Officer,

Authorities say the incident occurred around 3:22 p,m near East Cornwallis Road.

The officer was traveling west on East Cornwallis Road when a 2010 Cadillac STS attempted to make a left turn onto East Weaver St. and was struck by the patrol vehicle.

Emergency Medical Services transported the occupants, one adult and two children of the Cadillac, to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The officer sustained minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital.
