ISABELLA COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — A motorcyclist died in a crash involving a pickup truck towing a small utility trailer on Saturday, according to the Isabella County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said the crash occurred at 10:51 a.m. at 1000 Block East Rosebush Road in Isabella Township.

“While enroute to the scene deputies were informed that the motorcyclist was trapped between the pickup and trailer,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “Upon arrival of first responders, it was determined the man driving the motorcycle was deceased from the crash.”

The sheriff’s office said a pickup truck, driven by a 22-year-old Owosso man, was turning left into a driveway as the motorcyclist was traveling in the same direction.

The motorcyclist “failed to be able [to] stop or yield to the vehicle in front of him,” before colliding with the truck, according to the sheriff’s office.

The motorcyclist was identified on Sunday as Roger Stalter, 68, of Clare.

The cause of death was determined to be from a traumatic head injury.

The Owosso man driving the truck was not injured.

The sheriff’s office said contributing factors to the crash remain under investigation.
