Two motorcyclists have been seriously injured following a three-vehicle crash in a Suffolk village. Police were called just after 4pm on Friday, June 2, to reports of a three-vehicle collision on the A1092 Lower Road in Glemsford, near the entrance to Willow Tree Farm Shop.

The incident involved a white Mercedes Sprinter van, a black Kawasaki motorcycle and an Orange KTM motorcycle. Ambulance and fire crews also attended the incident, with both motorcycle riders being taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital – one via air ambulance and the other by land ambulance.

The two riders – a man aged in his 30s and a man aged in his 50s – both sustained serious injuries. The injuries of the man aged in his 30s described as potentially life-changing. The road remained closed until 10pm on Friday evening for recovery of the vehicles and a collision investigation to take place.

A Suffolk Police spokesperson said: "Officers would like to hear from any witnesses to the collision. They are also asking anyone driving in the area immediately prior to the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Roads and Armed Policing Team at Bury St Edmunds Police Station, quoting reference: 31868/23."
