A46 crash: Woman, 18, seriously injured after being hit by a lorry

A young woman was seriously injured after being hit by a lorry on a major road linking Gloucestershire and Worcestershire. The 18-year-old pedestrian is in a stable condition in hospital and police are appealing for witnesses.

The incident happened on the A46 near to Ashton under Hill[1] at around 3.25am on Sunday (June 11). The road was closed for around six hours between the A435 (near the Teddington Hands roundabout) to the A4184 near Evesham.

Diversions were put in place while West Mercia Police conducted a collision investigation at the scene. National Highways were called in to help with the closure and managing traffic.

PC Danny Somner said: “We are looking for any witnesses to the collision to come forward or anyone who was passing through the area this morning who may have dash-cam footage prior to the collision”
