Car wedged against house in Durham City in unusual crash
A recovery truck with a crane arm had to be called out to help remove a car which had become lodged in a gap between a house and a set of steps after staring from the street.
Thankfully, those involved in the crash were left uninjured, and the house was not structurally damaged by the incident – though the car involved may now be destined for the scrapheap.

A spokesperson for Durham City Police said: “Officers from Durham City neighbourhood team dealt with an unusual collision this week.
“As you can see from the photos, a vehicle ended up wedged against a house which created a real challenge for our colleagues at Fred Henderson Recovery.
“Thankfully no one was injured and the house suffered only minimal damage after the council structural engineer assessed the building.
“However, it may be the end of the road for the vehicle involved.”
