Carmarthenshire drivers in court across Wales and England for …

The defendants were accused of speeding and driving a vehicle without a valid MOT certificate. 

There were cases heard in Northampton and Cardiff.

IAN DAVIES, 51, of Dolau Bran, Llandovery, was caught by a speeding in a Mercedes by manned speed camera on Thrapston Road in Finedon, Wellingborough.

Davies was doing 50mph while a 30mph local traffic order was in place on November 4.

Following a guilty plea, Davies was fined £353 at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on May 25.

Davies must also pay £90 in costs and a £141 surcharge, and had six points added to his licence.

T’SHAUN KIMBERLEY JOSEPH, 24, of Folland Road in Garnant, was caught speeding on Fabian Way in Neath Port Talbot on January 9.

They were driving at 55mph while a 40mph local traffic order was in place.

The defendant pleaded guilty, and was fined £107 at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, June 13. They were also ordered to pay £90 in costs and a £42 surcharge, and was handed three penalty points.

JAMIE JEWITT, 30, of Maesyrhaf in Cross Hands, was driving on The Strand in Swansea on February 2 in an Audi which did not have a valid MOT.

He pleaded guilty, and was fined £40 at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on May 23.

Jewitt must also pay £90 in costs and a £16 surcharge.

DANIEL HOWELL, 38, of Llandeilo Road on Upper Brynamman, was speeding in a BMW in Neath Port Talbot.

Howell was driving at 37mph on the 30mph limit A474 Heol Y Gors at Cwmgorse on November 30.

He pleaded guilty at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on May 25.

Howell must pay a £66 fine and a £34 surcharge, and had three points added to his licence.

EMMA OLDHAM, 40, of Arfryn in Upper Brynamman, was speeding in an Audi in Neath Port Talbot.

Oldham was doing 35mph in the 30mph James Street and Gelligron Road on October 14.

After pleading guilty, she was fined £66 at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on May 26.

She must also pay a £34 surcharge and had three points put on her licence.
