A fire broke out at a police station in Gwynedd over the bank holiday weekend. Police have now confirmed its cause. The blaze took place at the station on Pensarn Road in Bala at around 1pm on Saturday. Luckily, there were no casualties and the ambulance service was not called out.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police[1] said the fire was caused by an electrical appliance that overheated. It is understood that the blaze was relatively minor and that firefighters were not at the scene for long.

A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to a building fire on Pensarn Road, Bala[3] at 13.02hr. No casualties were involved.”
