Live: M5, A38 and A30 chaos as Friday getaway begins

There are long delays on Devon’s major roads as the Friday getaway begins. Drivers can expect delays on the M5, A38 and A30 for the rest of the day ahead of the weekend.

One lane was closed on the A38 at Kennford following a crash between a car and lorry. Traffic monitoring website Inrix reports: “Very slow traffic due to earlier accident on A38 Expressway Eastbound near A380 (Splatford Split). All lanes have been re-opened. Travel time is 20 minutes.”

Elsewhere, there are delays on the Tamar Bridge, A30 at Tedburn St Mary and parts of the M5 motorway.
