Long delays in Hull after van smash on Hedon Road – updates

A crash involving a van has blocked Hedon Road westbound near King George Dock.

A picture from the scene shows the front of a white van smashed, after it appeared to take out crossing railings. It is unknown whether any other vehicles were involved at this time.

Commuters report sitting in traffic queues for more than 45 minutes, following the incident that happened around noon. Police officers are currently turning people around at King George Dock and diverting traffic down Marfleet Avenue.

Emergency services, including Humberside Police and Yorkshire Ambulance Service, are still at the crash site. Traffic website Inrix said: “A1033 Hedon Road in both directions partially blocked, slow traffic due to accident from Marfleet Avenue (Marfleet roundabout) to Northern Gateway.”
