Man dies in Swindon crash after car smashes into tree

A man has sadly died following a fatal car crash in Swindon involving a car striking a tree. The driver of car has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences.

Wiltshire Police were called to the collision on Kingsdown Road at around 9.45pm on Saturday (June 18) after a car crashed into a tree. A passenger in the car, a man in his 40s, was sadly confirmed to have died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed, a police statement has said.

The driver, a woman in her 40s, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drink driving. She is currently in police custody.

Investigating officers are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who saw a white Audi A3 in the area at the time.
