Man fires shotgun nearly missing his neighbor then blames him: Bainbridge Township police blotter

BAINBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, Ohio--

Neighbor dispute, Snyder Road:

A man, 20, called police 2:25 p.m. June 4 complaining that his neighbor was trespassing on his property and yelling at him. When police arrived they learned that the complaint, 20, had fired a 12-guage shotgun at an animal in the yard causing bullets to nearly hit the neighbor as he was getting out of his car and entering his home. Footage captured by a Ring camera confirmed this.

The complainant is living with his grandfather at the grandfather’s home. The homeowner said there was no problem with the neighbor and said he had not trespassed. The matter was reviewed by the Geauga County Prosecutor’s Office and the 20-year-old man was charged with a felony weapons charge of improperly firing at or into an inhabited structure. He was arrested and transported to the Geauga County jail.

Stolen property, Market Place Drive:

Solon police called Bainbridge Township police 8:10 p.m. June 8 after they arrested three women caught with a large amount of stolen athletic apparel. Items taken from the Kohls store in Bainbridge Township was about $585. In total, the value of stolen merchandise they had was $8,600. A Kohls employee recognized the women. Solon police charged them with receiving stolen merchandise.

Theft, Market Place Drive:

Two Garfield Heights women face charges of theft and using criminal tools following a May 28 incident at Walmart. They were caught scanning incorrect bar codes for lower priced merchandise to purchase items of a higher value. One woman, 33, was cited for a theft of $137.56. The other woman, 31 was cited for a theft of $27.50.

Crash, Chillicothe Road:

Police responded to a 4:30 p.m. May 29 call for a roll-over accident. The driver, an Aurora woman, 49, was transported to Hillcrest Hospital with minor injuries after she drove off the right side of the road, hit a mailbox and crossed over to the other side of the road striking a utility pole and a ditch. The vehicle rolled over several times. She was cited for failure to control her vehicle.

Crash, Chagrin River Road:

A girl, 18, was transported to Ahuja Medical Center 5:40 p.m. June 3 after she drove left of center into the opposite lane, struck a ditch and ended up with her vehicle straddling all lanes of travel. She faces possible charges.
