Man hospitalised and investigation launched after suspected Brighton stabbing near city centre
A man has been hospitalised after suffering an injury “consistent with a stabbing” in Brighton[1] on Tuesday night (June 20). The 42-year-old was found in Grand Parade near the city centre at around 11.40pm.
Sussex Police, who were on patrol when they found the man, provided immediate first aid. The man was taken to hospital where he remains.
An investigation has been launched with police appealing for witnesses and anyone with CCTV or footage to come forward. No arrests have been made at this time.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police[3] said: “Police on patrol in Brighton found an injured man in Grand Parade at about 11.40pm on Tuesday, June 20. They provided immediate first aid to treat the 42-year-old man, who had suffered an injury consistent with a stabbing.
“He was later taken to hospital, where he currently remains. Officers are investigating and have appealed for witnesses and anyone with relevant CCTV, mobile phone, or dashcam footage in the area at the time to come forward. Information can be reported to Sussex Police online or on 101, quoting Operation Elson.”
