Norfolk Police launch appeal after man suffers serious injuries in Crimplesham

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses following a serious crash in Crimplesham on Friday.

The collision occurred at 3.52pm on the A1122 Downham Road, close to the junction with Willow Heath Road, when a red Hyundai car, travelling in the direction of Downham, crashed with a silver VW Caddy van travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Hyundai – a man aged in his 70s – was seriously injured in the collision and flown by air ambulance to Addenbrooke’s.

The driver of the VW Caddy was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Lynn, while the road was closed for several hours before reopening again at 9.25pm.

Officers are now keen to hear from anybody who witnessed the crash or the manner of driving – or those who have dashcam footage.
