One transported after bicyclists collide: Hunting Valley Police Blotter
HUNTING VALLEY, Ohio
Squad call: Shaker Boulevard, Chagrin River Road
First responders were summoned to an accident scene between South Woodland Road and Shaker, where two cyclists ran into each other around 7:45 a.m. June 4.
As a result, one of the riders was transported to Hillcrest Hospital when she found herself unable to put any weight on her leg, although she was at the same time still conscious and alert.
The man riding the other bike refused further medical attention.
Assist other department: Mayfield Road
Mayfield Heights police requested further assistance and law enforcement presence for several fights at the Greens of Lyndhurst shopping center around 9:45 p.m. June 3, the most recent breaking out near Applebee’s restaurant.
— It was just over 24 hours since the earlier mutual aid request from Mayfield Heights police for additional officers in Hunting Valley or Gates Mills — or both — as they were trying to clear about 60 juveniles from Gates Mills Towers (or Place). Near the pool, the youths were reportedly loitering and acting unruly at 8:07 p.m. June 2. Backup officers returned from the scene before 8:30 p.m.
Suspicion: SOM Center Road
A resident reported at 5:34 p.m. June 3 that there was a van parked by their barn and four other cars in the driveway, although only the van remained a few minutes later.
The van was gone too by the time police arrived, with officers surmising that it was possibly due to a fireworks show being set up in the area.
Noise complaint: Lake House Lane
After complaining around 9 a.m. May 30 about loud music being played all night that was still going on from an unknown source, the same resident called back moments later to cancel, saying that the noise was coming from their own property after their son left his music player on all night.
Erratic driver: Chagrin River Road, Fairmount Boulevard
A caller reported a Subaru driving behind her erratically around 7 a.m. May 30, having just hit a mailbox along Fairmount between River Road and State Route 306.
Police obtained a license plate reading from Flock Safety cameras but were unable at that time to locate the suspect — or any damaged mailboxes, for that matter.
Road closure: Roundwood Road
Representatives from CVE Excavating called the village May 31 to inform officials that Roundwood would be closed June 5 at the dam for debris removal.
