Paisley motorcyclist killed in A82 crash named has appeal launched for information

A man who died in a crash between a motorcycle and car on the A82 north of Luss has been named.

37-year-old Andrew Jowett, from Paisley[1], was riding a blue Suzuki motorcycle when the crash involving a white Skoda Scala occurred on the northbound carriageway around 6.40pm on Tuesday (June 13).

He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital[2] where he died. His family has been made aware and report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Police Scotland[4] is now appealing for anyone with information about the collision to come forward to help with their investigation.

Sergeant Brian Simpson, Dumbarton Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with Andrew’s family and friends.

“Enquiries are ongoing into the crash and I am appealing for anyone, not already been spoken to by police, who witnessed the crash or saw the two vehicles prior to the collision, to get in touch.

“I am particularly keen to hear from the drivers of a dark coloured Volkswagen Touareg and a white Arnold Clark hire van who were in the area at the time. It’s possible they may have information or have dash-cam footage that will be of help to our investigation.”
