Police launch murder investigation after dad and two-year-old killed in lorry crash
Police have launched a murder investigation after a dad and a two-year-old believed to be his daughter were killed in a crash.
Ashley Henry, 35, and Oria Henry, 2, were travelling[1] in a blue Nissan Qashqai near Anwick in Lincolnshire on Sunday at the time of the incident. At around 2.45pm their vehicle collided with a lorry, both were tragically declared dead at the scene.
Lincolnshire Police[2] say, after “careful consideration”, it is now treating Oria’s death as a murder investigation[3]. It is unknown at this time if anyone in the lorry has been seriously injured, reports The Mirror[4].
Oria’s mother Rachael shared her grief on her Facebook page, making her profile picture that of herself and a toddler. She also shared Lincolnshire Police’s Facebook post of their statement, writing “My baby” with a crying emoji and a broken heart emoji.
The open post has received a string of messages from friends and family, including many who paid tribute. One woman posted: “I cannot imagine the pain you are feeling right now. My heart breaks for you.”
Another said: “You’ve been in my mind all day today and yesterday. I can’t begin to imagine what you’re going through and having to find a new way of living.
“You have terrific fight and dignity and beauty inside and out, and I can only imagine how much your daughter Oria was so adored by you and your family.”
Another friend shared: “My heart really bleeds for you, I could never imagine the pain you must be feeling.”
