‘RIP little man’ – Sea of tributes left in memory of boy, 12, killed in Coventry Road crash

A sea of tributes have been left at the scene of where a boy was killed after being hit by a car. The youngster, 12, was tragically struck[1] while riding his bicycle on the A45 Coventry Road, South Yardley, on June 9.

Paramedics raced to the scene and found the boy had sustained life-threatening injuries. He was given advanced life support but was, sadly, confirmed dead at the roadside.

Following the crash, West Midlands Police[2] arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Officers are still appealing for information . Anyone who witnessed the tragedy is urged to contact the force.


Tributes left at the scene in Coventry Road

Tributes continue to pour in for the youngster whose life ended far too soon. Flowers have been tied to a tree near to where the tragedy happened.

A letter attached to a bright bunch read: “Rest in peace little man. It breaks our hearts that you were taken so soon.

“Your memory will never leave us. Condolences to the family.”
